Our Bed and Breakfast in Tuscany
La Locanda in Cassero recalls in its own name the medieval inns in which travellers stopped to rest and eat: a "Locanda", literally an "inn", was in fact a place which provided travellers with food and with rooms to sleep. La Locanda was created in 1999 after the renovation of an old house with an olive press on the ground floor. It is located in the centre of the village in a building built along the line the ancient walls and it is believed to be the ancient "cassero" or donjon of the original castle.
La Locanda nel Cassero is renowned for its warm, friendly atmosphere. The interior is characterized by the typical beamed ceilings with bricks; the building’s original features have been restored and parts of walls have been brought back to the "facciavista" style with visible stones that create the perfect ambience for guests to feel at ease and most importantly to feel at home in Tuscany.
La Locanda nel Cassero has 5 rooms. The furniture is in the Tuscan style and it is harmonic with the interior design, where pastel colours and wooden finishes prevail to enhance the traditional look of these old premises. The rooms combine an authentic Tuscan feel and comfort. They are provided with all amenities for guests who wish to spend a vacation in an authentic Tuscan house but still enjoy the comfort of high quality accommodation.
The 5 rooms are located on the second and third floors of the bed and breakfast. They are all equipped with heating, TV, and private en suite bathroom with shower. The rooms on the third floor and penthouse are also provided with air-conditioning.
La Locanda nel Cassero can accommodate up to 12 guests. This makes our guesthouse in Maremma ideal for groups who want to spend a vacation in a place where time seems to slow down, in the heart of the most famous Tuscany, that portrayed in calendars and postcards, with easy access to all the most popular destinations such as Siena, the Maremma and the Val d'Orcia.
By the entrance, on the main floor, is a common room with a large fireplace with Satellite TV. Breakfast is served in this room in winter, whereas, in summer, it is served on the large terrace overlooking a park that houses old cypress trees and junipers and the valley that opens between the villages of Civitella Marittima and Roccastrada. A breathtaking view and a great way to start the day in the fresh summer mornings in Tuscany.
