The village is halfway between Grosseto and Siena and is ideally at a crossroads between the most famous and appreciated areas in Tuscany such as Siena, the Val d'Orcia, the Crete Senesi, the Metalliferous Hills and Massa Marittima, the coast of the Maremma, with Argentario, Maremma Nature Park also called Parco dell'Uccellina, Mount Amiata, the Etruscan areas of Roselle and Pitigliano. With a short drive of just over 1 hour, guests can reach Florence to the north and Lake Trasimeno to the east. Pisa is 2 hours away and Lucca is approximately a 1 hour and 45 minute drive.
La Locanda nel Cassero is an ideal base for exploring Southern Tuscany and for enjoying one of the most beautiful and more peaceful and unchanged areas in the region. You can choose to spend one day on the mountain and another at the beach or at the hot springs; one day in a city of art and another driving along the winding roads that run through the unspoilt and dramatic landscapes of the Tuscan countryside, with its rolling hills and its rows of cypresses, the small churches and the big abbeys, the humble farmhouses and the bold villas, the large oaks on the top of a hill covered in vineyards, and the olive groves in the red sunsets.
